It’s obvious what Trump did. It’s obvious that Trump did wrong. It’s obvious that Trump will use all means to cover up what he did. It’s obvious that Trump lies all the time. And it’s obvious that Senate Republicans care more about protecting Trump than protecting the country.

I think they are protecting their prestigious, cushy jobs with all the perks, that make them feel powerful, important and relevant. And if they give trump cover they get to keep them. Along with future prospects of more money. I think they’d back trump even if he was a dictator.
