This is how those on opposite sides should all get along. Sure you can have differences, but in the end you represent the people and try to work together.
-
Only problem is Congress has become severely hyper-partisan and hasn't legislated squat for over 20+ years. That being said, for this particular set of circumstances, Rep Pelosi has done a solid job of navigating through ever changing murky political waters.

Don’t you think a new breed of politicians - constitutionally focused and willing to work across the aisle and stop demonizing the other side would be refreshing ? I think they would be embraced for wanting to get stuff done and unite country
-
This is why I like Pete Buttigieg, also why others hate him. Honestly, until politicians feel pain due to not working across the aisle, they’ll keep the tribalism up. There needs to be financial and electoral consequences for shit behavior.

Joe - I disagree with you on some policy issues; indeed, I consider myself part of the political left. Nonetheless, I so appreciate the firmness and fidelity with which you stand for democratic process, for democracy.

I second that tweet

Maybe it's time for moderate Republicans and Democrats to form a new party, and leave the crazy right and left wings to go it alone.
-
Leaving aside the pejorative, this is precisely how virtually all other democracies work anyway. Our two parties are the equivalent of at least four parties in most other countries. In this case you'd probably have six; three from each.
