At the risk of offending all of you who are super caught up in impeachment drama, and embarrassing my husband (who isn't really on Twitter, but might see this), I would like to announce that we have now officially been married for 20 full years.

I am not one who is big on offering advice because a) I believe everyone is different (and our differences are often pretty significant) and b) I am superstitious and don't like the idea of jinxing things. However, I will say a few words here about marriage.

1) Marrying my husband was the smartest decision I ever made. We were 21. We were in our final year of University. My Dad had died a fairly shocking death about a month before. A lot of people thought we shouldn't do it. We did anyway. If it's right, it's right.

2) Marriage is really hard. People think the getting to the altar is the tricky bit. Nope. It's everything that comes after. People develop new interests, get new jobs, have medical issues arise, move in different directions, and the job is to manage all that while staying a unit
