It’s always hard to not comment on this type of stuff with “we told you” or “it’s been like this”, but yes I agree. Thank you for speaking out, but also no thank you for the party you supported for so many years that helped build this Fox News hyper partisan hellscape.

He’s very contrite about his participation — more than anyone else I’ve seen in the public sphere. We don’t need to keep finger wagging at him just for our own catharsis.

My Dad taught me it's always country over party, country over ideology. I'm very grateful for him. He lied about his age so he could join the Marines and fight the communists in Korea. He rec'd a purple heart. I can't even fathom what he'd say about the GOP embracing Russia.

It's agonizingly sad to think about it.

The two tribes are: those looking out for others and looking to help others (recognizing that they are helping themselves) VERSUS those who seek to exploit and take advantage of/harm and disregard others (failing to recognize that they are harming themselves).

It's a simple dichotomy. The Right says, 'well it didn't happen to me so it doesn't matter. The left says, "well it shouldn't happen to anybody." 2 entirely different world views.

It’s older than that. This is squarely at Newt’s feet. This is the inevitable outcome of the “Contract With America.” Or, if you prefer, it goes back to Athens. This is yet another instance of Democrats vs. Oligarchs - the eternal struggle.
