What keeps getting lost in all this is that he didn’t care about an actual investigation - he just wanted Zelensky to publicly announce, on CNN and to the US voting population, that he was opening an investigation. This was only about smearing a political rival for personal gain
He used the powers of his office to sabotage the 2020 election. If that’s not impeachable, then nothing is.

Funny how we've all forgotten that though "unsuccessful" in taking down Trump on its own, the Mueller Report did not exonerate him. There was obstruction, an affinity for Russian interference, and a dozen other potential crimes. These things are not mutually-exclusive.
