Also really, really clear. Not only is he really bad for the Republican Party, he's proving that neither he nor anyone else in the party cares enough about that fact to actually do something about it.

Many Republican voters enjoy it when Trump pisses off liberals. And sure, that's a natural reaction. But anger makes people vote. Pissing people off feels like winning, but long-term it means losing. A good leader tries to keep opponents complacent. Trump keeps them motivated.

True. But the self immolation of the GOP is one of the few warm things in this cold political climate. Will the Senate GOP throw themselves on the pyre and acquit? Or save themselves and party? Which outcome should I hope for? We'll just disagree as to which is richly deserved.

What's clear is that he can primary any of them, but he can't win any of them an election unless they have at least a 10 point lead and he doesn't turn up in their state. He is, to all intents and purposes now useless to the GOP. #ImpeachAndRemove
