I married into a gun family. My FIL has an extensive and impressive collection of antique firearms. His choice of protection within arm’s reach during the night? A handgun. I don’t know anyone who keeps an AR 15 bedside for protection.

Not likely. My FIL served as an expert witness on gun safety and shoots 150 year old muzzle loaders accurately for fun. He’s well aware of the capabilities of an AR 15 and doesn’t see the need to store it at his bedside.

Nice share Joe, you should make this into a PowerPoint and go lecture the loved ones of the victims of all of the recent mass shootings on what was used to kill the people they lost and why it’s so awesome.

The fascination with technical analysis of these weapons is pure distraction. All that matters is that wannabe mass-shooters understand all too well that THIS is the tool for the job. Regardless of the semantics they know that with one of these they can kill a lot of people fast.

Notice how they think it's meaningful to analyse individual parts (there is no forest, only trees and who doesn't like trees!? Why ban trees!?) A klanmen's pointy hood is just white fabric with a couple holes cut out. What's the big deal?
