This whole American flag debate can be so stupid. Yes, I stand for the flag, and yes I will defend that flag. But more importantly, I will defend anyone's right to NOT stand for the flag. I will defend anyone's freedom to protest. That freedom is what America is all about.

Should be whatever the contract states. If the NFL wants to add that as a line then a player has the right to negotiate against it. If there's no specific laugage in their contract expecting them to do so, then the players can sit or stand or kneel or whatever.
