"What’s humorous to me is that we’re finally proposing a clear, ambitious, but necessary and grounded policy on the scale of the problem. And so it’s hard for the Republicans to refute the actual policy on its substance."

🧡🍂🧡 Orange Shirt Day — a National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Thinking of my dad today. Did the little boy sitting alone in St Mary’s Indian Residential School all those years ago ever think we would see a day like today?

I would encourage Canadians not to look away from this brutal racism. It is ugly & unsettling but speaks to the need to address racism, both systemic & individual. On Orange Shirt Day let’s renew our commitment to the TRC Calls to Action & Inquiry #cdnpoli

I’m running to be Premier Folks have encouraged me to run & I wanted to let you know that I am — I was honoured to be nominated by the NDP earlier this year. More than anything I wanted to say thanks for the good words you’ve shared with my colleagues & I recently!

Earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. I figured I’d let folks know why I’ll be participating in the upcoming legislative session virtually. It’s really important that everyone get vaccinated as soon as they can — including booster shots & vaccinations for kids aged 5-11

Freedom from hatred. Freedom from Nazism. Freedom from dying of COVID-19. The fight for freedom isn’t over. We’re on the side of love, democracy and saving lives.

You can shuffle your cabinet all you want but one fact will remain: It will take years to fix the damage the PCs have caused. And they all supported it.

The symbols of hate, the disrespect of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the defacing of the Terry Fox statue are all unacceptable. Vaccines are safe & effective. Those advancing misinformation are harming our society. It’s important for all leaders to condemn this nonsense

Just want to point out that the 2021 Canadian Election is debating the following question: “Drinking Water for all Indigenous People?”

Today - goodbye Mr. Pallister. Soon - goodbye PC government. The problems of the last few years weren’t just the fault of the Premier, they were the fault of the party that supported his decisions each step of the way. #mbpoli

An Indigenous Languages Commissioner isn’t going to help a single young Neechee learn their language. If Feds want to undo some of the damage they’ve done to Indigenous languages they should be funding community-driven Indigenous immersion schools & after school programs!

I'm very sad to confirm Danielle Adams, the NDP MLA for Thompson and a dedicated mother and partner, passed away this afternoon. Danielle fought hard for a better life for families, northerners, & kids across Manitoba. To our dear colleague and friend—we will miss you so much!

Jagmeet Singh breaks down when asked about visiting unmarked graves at Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. NDP leader was asked how he felt as an expectant father. Singh paused, appeared to fight back tears, said Indigenous justice is the issue, not him.

So... what did the Premier say when I asked if he understood his cuts to ICU beds helped send 18 Manitoba ICU patients out of province? Well, he called me a very bad name. Even by his standards. Apology accepted. I’ll keep holding him & the PCs to account.

As a father I’m heartbroken. As a leader I see we failed #TinaFontaine many times during her life & after. As a pipe carrier I’ll pray with my family for this little girl & her relatives. We have to do better, but tonight & tomorrow let’s support a grieving family & community 💔

I wrote to the Prime Minister today asking him to close the loopholes that allow massively profitable companies to take federal wage subsidy money & then cut jobs. Bell’s closure of TSN 1290 & cutting other jobs around the country while taking $122M in wage subsidies is wrong.

The Premier of Manitoba put out 3 statements today on the convoy & not once told them to go home. She did send her Minister out to repeat convoy talking points. Seems she cares more about what the convoy thinks than a closed border, occupied downtown and a school on lockdown

I can’t believe I’m saying this for the 2nd time this week but… I condemn Anti-vaxx & pro-convoy protesters for targeting Manitoba schools. Leave the kids alone. It would be good for the Premier to say something about this and to tell the convoy to pack up.

I want to congratulate all for the hard work in defeating Bill 64 — the NDP delayed it because if we hadn’t it would’ve passed 2nd reading back in March before anyone heard about it. It’s a testament to the hard work of parents, students, teachers & those who work in schools!

We have to try to bring their loved ones home — Heather Stefanson made a serious mistake in ruling out any landfill search. If cost is the concern for some, let’s work with the families to consider options other than doing absolutely nothing.

Bill 64 will die because of the opposition from thousands of Manitobans… But our Manitoba NDP team was critical to this — if we hadn’t delayed the bill, 64 would’ve passed in March before anyone ever heard of it. And, yes, every single PC MLA would’ve voted in favour of it

“I’ll stand by my comments last week” - Mr Pallister on his very divisive comments about Indigenous peoples that led Minister Clarke to resign. Every PC cabinet member now needs to let folks know if they agree with Mr Pallister’s racist comments or Minister Clarke.
