Sometimes our stuff is potentially humorous. On this occasion, however, it is far from humorous.

More arguement that SCs should be entitled to the same PPE as regulars. Taser for example. It’s not like it’s just issued- if you pass the training and assessments it should be available for all.
-
We receive all the same PPE such a body armour, baton, cuffs and PAVA etc. Taser isn't really practical for specials due to the training requirements
-
Why is it impractical? I managed to do a 3 week response driving course despite having a full time job. A 3-4 day taser course + 2 days a year refresher is easy enough to accommodate.
-
... to a regular officer. How often are taser deployments used? I'm not an expert but I haven't been on one shift yet where a taser officer has been specially requested for a job. Maybe that's just luck
-
I’ve been at a few, and one job I probably would’ve considered it as an option (first to a man with 2 knives). I hope NPCC make the right decision. Nice debate :)

Anyone who attacks a member of our emergency or armed forces who are there to keep us safe should be sent to jail for a minimum of 15 years. There is no excuse that would make me feel otherwise.
