WY 487 is closed from WY 220 to approximately milepost 70 due to a large fire involving several bulk tanks containing diesel and gasoline near the roadway. An alternative route is from WY 220 to Coal Mountain Road (Approx mp 100 on WY 220) to Circle Drive back to WY 487.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol would like to remind the public of the speed limit on US-85 south of Cheyenne, which is 65 MPH. This motorist was stopped this morning, traveling 43 MPH over the posted speed limit. Please slow down and drive safely!

It is probably not a good idea to drop by the Wyoming Highway Patrol Headquarters building to request a VIN inspection if you are in possession of stolen property. This ended with a quick trip downtown for the driver after the trailer was reported stolen out of Colorado.

This morning Cheyenne residents will see an increase in commercial truck traffic due to truck drivers and law enforcement personnel participating in the Special Olympics Truck Convoy. Please wave and show support as they pass by you this morning.

Wings Over Warren Air Show Parking Info: Base access open for parking between 6-8:30 a.m. All visitors will drive onto Warren Air Force Base via Roundtop Rd & be directed to parking. Base access for airshow limited to approx. 1,000 vehicles. No parking on the roadway #wyoroad
Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating a severe crash involving a commercial truck around milepost 28 north of Cheyenne on US85. US85 has been closed between Cheyenne and WY-151 while crews investigate the crash. Please use alternate routes while the road is closed.

WHP Troopers continue to answer calls for service for motorists stranded within this storm in southeast Wyoming. Please stay home and off the roadways. Many roads are impassable, causing dangerous conditions for crews to assist you if you become stranded.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol assisted Crook County Fire units with a grass fire earlier today. Fire units identified the fire source as a cigarette. Fortunately, the wind was calm, and fire units were able to extinguish the fire quickly. Remember the fire danger is high.
