    We’re fast approaching parli recess & will be off for Christmas to recharge the batteries for the many challenges ahead in 2022. We'd like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a good break, but not before reflecting on a few standout moments in '21, and what a year it’s been!

    “It is not too late for the government to fix this and support sustainable farming at home and abroad. We need core standards for trade that can be set in UK law to apply to all food sold and would ensure minimum environmental standards are met no matter what deals are signed.3/4

    Throughout we heard from incredible people demanding real action to tackle the . Leaders must listen to the voices of young people & indigenous communities, and the outpouring of public demand for action.

    It's encouraging to see commitments on curbing fossil fuel subsidies - the first time this has been mentioned in a COP decision. However, it's deeply disappointing to see a watering-down of the language on coal from phase-out to phase-down.

    The Glasgow Climate Pact calls on countries to come back in the next year with stronger pledges and plans for action. Leaders must now follow through and deliver the action needed to make this a reality.

    At the end of Oct, we headed to . We're hugely proud of WWF’s UK & international delegations working all hours of the day and night to remind world leaders of the climate promises they’ve made, urging them to step up, put us on track for 1.5°C & make nature a climate hero.

    After an epic 1056 days since draft publication, the became law at last. Having worked on it from the start with our friends in , we helped it grow from simply dealing w. governance to potentially restoring nature by 2030 - now the hard work starts!
