Terribly sad to hear of the passing of the indefatigable writer, curator & professor Bérénice Reynaud. Whether writing on Hou or Akerman or defending emerging artists, she was always a force & inspiration. Love to her family, friends & colleagues at CalArts, REDCAT and more. ❤️

Very excited to be showing FAUNA, the latest by Mexican/Canadian filmmaker Nicolás Pereda '20. One of Pereda's bests and something of a departure, FAUNA is a sly, super smart & comedic take on violence in Mexican popular imagination. With hints of Hong Sang-soo...

Her films brilliantly captured that quintessential, devastatingly human(ist) mode of happy/sad, of utter joy and quiet, mounting heartbreak. Merci pour le bonheur, Agnès Varda.

Terribly saddened by the passing of Robert Fenz. A committed filmmaker & artist whose voice will be missed. Inspired by greats Roy DeCarava, Chantal Akerman, Peter Hutton & Johan van der Keuken, Fenz was singularly talented. Hope to see his films travel.

Although her smile was generous and infectious, I love this photo of her. Determined, forging ahead, going places few were willing to go, and going all the way. Alone, but gathering and growing communities along the way. #BarbaraHammer

Just remembering the Mies van der Rohe cinema in Toronto that tragically no longer exists. Elegance incarnate. "God" is in the details...

Heartfelt condolences to our friends and colleagues on Dave Barber’s passing. Dave was the kindest, most generous of colleagues, with sly humour and endless passion for cinema in general & Canadian in particular. Always an inspiration, he will be missed.

The verb "curate" is too often misapplied and drained of its meaning, rendered fashionably ubiquitous. Whereas great curators are rare. Okwui Enwezor was one of them, gone too soon.
