It reminds me of how fast food workers tend to work 10 times harder, but will never get tipped or paid a living wage. Why? Tips were created for employers to avoid paying their wait staff a living wage putting it on the public during the depression yet still lingers today. #1%

That's right. Tipping is a clever way for employers to put the burden of compensation on the worker and it has suppressed demand for higher minimum wages. It gets worse...in more and more cases employers are demanding a cut! There isn't a tip jar at the Emergency Room desk...yet.
