‘I think the morale there is probably as bad as I’ve seen it in my 22-year tenure.’ How sports colossus ESPN lost its way in era of cord-cutting and hyperpartisan politicshttps://on.wsj.com/2GLjxxm

It’s easy to say the problem is politics. I’m willing to be that most hardcore sports fans prefer league specific networks with more analysis and fewer talking heads while casual fans only want to watch events. ESPN kinda made their bed over a decade ago.

You’re right. ESPN has turned me off to the NFL, I grew tired of hearing about it all year, and wanted to hear about baseball, during the summer. I’ve turned off ESPN and don’t watch near as much football

NFL games are such events. But it’s only once a week for 16 weeks. I prefer baseball or NBA even where there are multiple games a week. Too much talk for such little action in football.

All I hear about is politics anymore. When I watch sports the last thing I want to hear is politics. I don't care if I agree with it or not. Just focus on sports.

ESPN is DOA courtesy of leftist self inflicted wound. Good riddance!

Don’t know what ESPN does any more as never watch it. Talk politics instead of sports, watch the channel change.

ESPN’s answer is always up sell existing customers. Yes, we have 4 24/7 channels but if you want the good stuff subscribe to ESPN Plus! Yes, we have a massive website but if you want the real scoop sign up for Insider! Joke

To say that John Skipper screwed this up would be an understatement. He was awful.
