I come to @Starbucks for a nice environment to write and drink coffee. This makes it tougher. It puts more pressure on baristas that don't deserve to deal with these problems. #Amwriting #Cafes

Yeah and leaves employees to deal with these disruptive sometimes dangerous people...Evenings stores selling alcohol expecting management to deal with what a bouncer would...never did I deal with so many hostile people as I did working the coffee circuit. Who protects us????

Starbucks does have to properly deal with its policy on non-paying guests. The complaints that cafes would otherwise turn into homeless shelters and drug havens are fully justified. This is because that is what has happened to MacDonald's in Hong Kong.

Like...call the police. Instead of saying you have to buy something, they say you don't have to buy anything. This makes no sense for a business or for employees.

Wait for the first incident when a black or Hispanic person decides to lay down and sleep in a store and the police are called. That policy will change again.

There are millions of businesses with public rest rooms that don't seem to have all these problems. Why should Starbuck's?

Most have clear signs that state restrooms are for paying customers only, no loitering, and right to refuse service.

You mean Starbucks, right? I haven't seen signs like that in any other business. None.
