So Trump plans to build hotels & golf courses in North Korea that the North Koreans can't afford?

I have grave reservations against trying to bribe a Kim out of owning nuclear weapons. We tried that in the Agreed Framework, and it failed miserably.

Trump can't guarantee that to any leader. The people of North Korea could rise up and take over.

Kim would have that anyway, without Trump's help. But is this really a person we want in power for a lifetime? No, not really. Trump either. He thinks he's going to live forever, but he ended the funding for that research last year.

All the other foreign policy we tried with that county failed though so can’t really say it was effective then. This probably won’t be effective ether though

We're giving concessions to a despot for literally nothing in return. They're not giving up their nukes, so that's a non-starter, and who cares if they suspend testing. All we're doing is getting behind a dictator for absolutely no gain for the U.S. It's the status quo, but worse

If they don’t give up their nukes then they will end up getting nothing, besides an increased chance of a war breaking out. We should all be hoping for some kind of deal to be worked out no matter how unlikely. And Trump is egotistical. He will not like to be seen as “weak”

Oh, I wish they'd give up their nukes. But they won't. There's no reason for them to. In fact, given who's in office right now, that's the last thing I'd do if I were NK leadership. We've basically told NK that their nukes are all they've got. They have to keep them.

I doubt they will as well. That’s the only thing pretty much keeping them alive right now. I just feel like if something isn’t worked out the a military option becomes incredibly likely..we’ll see what happens. I don’t see a deal being made. Hope I’m wrong and hope it’s a good 1
