Free? Cost the the United States its dearest blood. There would be no South Korea without US payment in the Korean War. Vulgar amnesia.

Yea keeping tens of thousands of American troops in in South Korea for 60 years hasn't been too much of a cost for taxpayers.

"Rent free"... seriously? Are you suggesting America should pay countries like South Korea for the right to protect them from enemies?

Can The Wall Street Journal tell Americans how much it has cost them to defend South Korea since the Korean War??

It’s far more than $ too. Most Americans aren’t allowed to bring their families for the year they are there, resulting in tens of thousands of broken families over the years.

Americans have sacrificed a lot since WWII defending other nations. Europeans, Koreans, Filipinos, Japanese, Canadians etc..etc..

Why would we pay to have our forces there to defend their country? I did a year at Osan and wasn’t allowed to bring my family. 70% divorce rate for unaccompanied service members. ROK can suck it up like I had to for their country.

SK give 1 billion to USFK every year. if it were not for China no Korean want US forces in Korean peninsula. But because of China Kim Jong Un and US DOD want US troops stay in Korea even after peace treaty and reunification.
