You have a point there, but there are some things where price is not the important factor. I can always get it paid for somehow . . . as long as I’m alive!

That's actually an important point called price inelasticity. It's what makes medicine a very poor candidate for operating as a free market.

It doesn’t matter if a third-party is paying. Third-party payer systems remove price from the consumer purchase decision.
