Airport lounges were once a perk for business travelers. Now, anyone with a credit card can go in.https://on.wsj.com/2rc8LLX

Must keep the riff-raff out! Hard to enjoy our one-percentness with poor middle-class peasants around.

        1) Seems to be implying a lost golden age of airport lounges and that now they are on the slow slide in while more are acccessed. 2) That age was not as recent as implied and while access is more open, lounge refreshes and new benefits have been added

I remember specifically from 2008 to 2011 United and others slowly removing nearly any food, nearly any free drinks and lounges were constantly closed even at the Chicago hub. We'd get emails that 'this will change. blah blah (except at Tokyo Narita airport). But now way better!

Now, there are free cocktails again, entry folks are more welcoming and the lounges themselves are larger. Yes, the #s of folks is higher and if you're @prioritypasscom and can't get in it's not fun but overall it's an improvement domestically.
