Kim Jung Un gets what he craves: legitimacy, equal footing on international stage. And a chance to split South Korea from the US. Good job #maga He murders his family, starves his people

It's the sanctions biting at home that has driven him to this.

Also the collapse of their testing site and failure of missile testing. It’s he beat move now to form an alliance. It’s genius actually

Not genius. Survival. Potential from the Dynasty at home that he would be ousted/killed. Doesn't want open revolt at home. Therefore, now seen to be an open & friendly neighbour/diplomat. Wait till N.Koreans travel south & see the disparity ....bye bye Kim.

This statement concerns me, if he wants the two to be joined as one nation who will be the leader of this one nation? Kim Jong Un is not someone to trust.

This is the usual playbook for N Korea. Check the recent history of the last 3 decades of this relationship. They are gaming us again. After they get what they want it’s back to more of the same.

As much as I'd love to see this actually happen, I can't help but be extremely skeptical about this.

You may want to see a hot nuclear war or masscre in Korean peninsula. Watch a movie please.

Um, what are you talking about? I *want* to see peace on the Korean Peninsula. I'm just hesitant to trust what Kim Jong-un says. Why? Because he lies. Actions matter more. I want to see what he actually does.

It was US not North Korea which breached the agreements first. Dems made deal, Reps nullified is the typical US foreign policy change. You see, US is going to change Iran deal in similar way. As far as I know, North Korea did not lie as US media claimed. You will see soon.

You said I want to see a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. I never said or implied that. I stated I'm skeptical that Kim Jong-un will actually follow through with what he's said. I'd like to see him do that. I just don't trust him. I never said the US is innocent either.

The US gov has a lot to answer for for actions all over the world for decades. But if you believe NK is completely innocent then you need to take a closer look at history and their behavior. Stop reading things in my comments I didn't say or imply. My views on NK are complicated

We will see what NK is doing in a month or so.

That's exactly my point. NK can say anything they want but unless they back it up with actions, it's nothing more than rhetoric. It's why I'm skeptical of what Kim Jong-un has said. He has a history of not following through with what he says he'll do.

No. It was US and Russia who divide Korean peninsula. Not UN.
