Dear WSJ, what do you expect any democracy to do? Stand idly by and do nothing while its elected officials loot the nation and monopolize power to avoid accountability by neutralizing all accountability mechanisms and institutions by filling them up with their cronies?

You should've done a better job than being a loudspeaker for a corrupt lying crook's disinfo. There was no sinister plot to remove him from power. There was only revelation of his kids' ownership of expensive apartments his family failed to account for with their lawful income.

Yes, this IS a battle between democracy and tyranny, the tyranny being Nawaz Sharif! You American media's hatred for Pakistan and paranoia about its military have rendered you incapable of putting out anything impartial or informed about anything going on in this country.

That the country would see some rough days is no excuse to let an elected public official holding the highest executive office in the country go unpunished for what he and his kids did. Look up the distinction James Davies made between "productive" and "unproductive" suffering.

Note here the horrible indict the country's highest court made of Nawaz Sharif's character. This man now has the gall to throw a tantrum and act like a victim for getting the justice he deserved and blame everyone BUT himself for his own disqualification. http://www.supremecourt.gov.pk/web/page.asp?id=2540 …pic.twitter.com/YklCUNQCD1

All corrupt politicians and fake media say this. Basically they want to keep stealing and spreading lies, until they're caught, then, oh no! democracy and free speech under threat. We've read the script.

There are no innocents in Pakistani politics. It is a country created out of moral and political corruption, not to mention conspiracy. Sharif family was the biggest financial beneficiary of the military establishment led by the #Islamist monster Zia, the one gave us #Taliban.
