Britain's National Health Service is facing some of its worst shortages ever, despite its highest level of funding in historyhttps://on.wsj.com/2JcjXhZ

And while you're busily gloating, let me point out to you that the US spends 17.9% of its GDP on #healthcare ($10,348 per capita, $3.3 trn total in 2016), yet healthcare costs are the biggest single cause of personal bankruptcy in the States, 11.3% of adults were without

#healthcare #insurance in the first quarter of 2017, & mean life expectancy in the US is a mere 78.6 years at birth (end 2017), compared to 81.05 in the UK (2016). In 2014, the UK spent 9.8% of its GDP on health care.

Different demographics, and different amounts spent for/by various income categories. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Beloved my butt! My British friends had nothing but horror stories about the NHS, from bureaucratic nightmares to third world care, not one has said they wouldn't trade it for private care if they could afford it!

Your friends are not in the majority, not even close. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5606987/Nearly-two-thirds-Britons-ready-pay-tax-bail-NHS.html … Ask them if they would rather deal with all the BS of private insurance and if they would be willing to pay 2x as much because that's what we do. We pay 2x in terms of % of GDP.

Well that just makes you guys foolish... However, given that the UK has become a country where you can go to prison for an offensive joke, or get a pocket knife confiscated in London, I'm not at all surprised that the British sheep don't mind being sheared...

Gammon's Law: The more money thrown at a failing bureaucracy, the worse the output. So true. The illustrates why progressivism fails so badly.

Sure a system where you can die waiting to have treatment is best in world?

I would disagree. If you have insurance through work which most people do or are too poor to pay I would take the US system anyday. Choice , best DR’s in world and government not involved.

That’s not true. People in US have no idea how good they have it. With private insurance in US which covers most people , the services are bestnin world.
