Not true. This isn’t “Hollywood financing” and most shareholders in equities make good profits. There are bad apples, but the majority of companies that are on the exchanges and older than 5 years are generally performing well for their investors.

Can tell your investing age just by that answer alone. Furthermore, if you cannot see the asymmetry between extortionate executive pay and shareholder return, then misguided.

I’m 32 years old, and have never had a problem with C level pay as long as the company is doing what it’s stated it will do for the shareholders.

As already said. Investing age predictable based on comment. Few losses, many winners = market perform in a 10y bull market. No issue with performance related pay either. This is not performance related !!

Most executives in private and public companies should make far more than their associates or staff. I still am not seeing the issue. They are taking on a larger risk. They shall be compensated for such risks.

herein lays the error: They should get paid proportional to their value. If the value added warrants more, then so be it. Most of the time it does not and this is at the expense of either [1] customer, [2] shareholder (mostly) who have taken most risk !

With the tech companies that I have invested in, many of the executives “deserve” to be paid accordingly. They stock is up and the company is thriving. Unlike a Snapchat where there is really no room to grow, but Spiegel’s compensation package was ludicrous by all standards
