Not surprising. Too much regulation will blur the line between protection and gagging.

How about we go back to Equifax and regulate that shit. Millions of people's data stolen who never signed up or voluntarily consented to any of it yet face financial ruin. Yet Congress screams REGULATION over social media and not credit bureaus?! Really?

The general public sees social media as their only means of talking out,and also receiving various contents of a news story. The established media is considered by some as being nothing more than a filter. Most people feel they are fed what govt and media want the public 2 know.

The article by @WSJ is fake news. Those that favor attacking @POTUS are not in favor of regulating #Facebook, #Twitter, and #Youtube. Those that support the President are TOTALLY in favor of attempting to make #socialmedia serve the people.

Budget needs to be fixed first. Federal legislation does not change because the business is run online. The companies are already under the jurisdiction of FBI, Department of Commerce, Department of Health and Human Services (psychological experimentation), FCC, and Treasury.
