'Mission Accomplished' when Trump is out of office or goes to prison for tax fraud, collusion and money laundering just to name a few of his offenses.

I can't comment on whether the missile strike was a good idea, or 'morally right'. But if a mission of any kind is a success, why wouldn't you say "Mission accomplished"?

I would assume it’s because the ultimate mission should be peace in Syria and not bombing three targets?

I don't enough about the situation to give an informed opinion. I do know enough however, to realize that sometimes violence begets peace.

Even with that said, could we know “mission accomplished” that peace the night of this occurring? I would assume that’s only known with hindsight. I hope it does achieve peace - but this celebration is premature.

@realDonaldTrump is too stupid to look that far ahead. Perty sure his remark was just for the missiles successfully hitting their targets.

The mission was to bomb three targeted locations in Syrian. The raid was carried out with precision, and targets destroyed. Therefore it is "mission accomplished". Why is this hard for anyone to understand?

Because it did nothing long term. Assad will rebuild his chemical plants & will repeat his past behavior. Since it appears the chemical plants were well-known locations why did the U.N. not go in and inspect? Waste of taxpayer money & who know how many lives.

Nothing short of taking out Assad (regime change) can guarantee that. That was not the mission, nor should it be. This was about sending a clear message that cw will not be tolerated. We can only hope Assad is smart enough to heed the message. If not this will escalate.

Why is this statement an issue in the first place? There's a cornucopia of Trump statements to be mocked. Is it possible to show some discretion in such critical, world stage matters?
