I've been telling ppl for years that social media was going to be used against us in a malicious was since people willingly post their entire life and broadcast their location. I refused to join fb for years until I finally caved thinking I was wrong and then this happens... Smh

May I just add that his “team” should have been there to answer questions since he dodged almost every question referencing that his “team will be in touch”. That he was allowed to pretend not to know and say such things as founder and CEO of his company is outrageous!

That should be an easy affirmative. Get to it folks. Start by passing laws emulating the Europeans.

Just what we need, more #regulation and #Government controls. Whatever happened to #freedom of #choice and personal responsibility. If you don’t want your #data gathered don’t go on #facebook or go #online. Can’t have your cake and eat it too!

Better yet, will users (people) get smarter about what they write, say, and do online? Like on the one hand everyone is all "Oh, down with the man for telling me what to do" and on the other hand they are "Oh, please take my personal responsibilities".

Big companies are always open to regulation. Regulation bestows competitive advantage in proportion to size and wealth.

Interesting that the Republican Congress is showing such interest in digital privacy on the social media which tends to be anti Trump.

The old Cold War Era joke applies here—just swap “TV” for “Internet” and “Soviet Union” for “USA”...In Soviet Union, TV watches YOU! *Congress will pass laws that will appease the average citizen, but not constrict corporations’ abilities to invade privacy.

Thank God Congress is there to protect us from targeted advertising. Meanwhile the government is snooping on us all, and there is no "opt out" button on their system. And they have guns.

Sure ... great regulations create TALL BARRIERS TO ENTRY. Do it and the big ones will dominate. @facebook in DC exposed how behind the #Swamp is with respect to current technology. The questions were ridiculous and displayed total IGNORANCE. @POTUS #MAGA

You can't regulate what you don't understand. One legislator said was thankful that Facebook had "streamlined" not "live streamed" an event. They don't even speak the lingo, so help from tech firms at varying ends of the spectrum is required. Truthful whistleblowers sign up!
