It is critical that congress do everything in its power to #ProtectMueller. If they don’t and Trump fires him and/or Rosenstein, then there should be an immediate move to impeach, simple as that. This is a nation of laws.

Indirectly he can fire Mueller. But that would be crazy and stupid. Yeah, he’ll probably fire Mueller.

Sessions has recused himself, so Sessions couldn’t. Rosenstein could fire Mueller, but it must be for reasons outlined in the statute. Further, if Trump asked Rosenstein to fire Mueller, that’s likely obstruction. If Trump fires Rosenstein or Sessions to get their replacement to

fire Mueller, that is also likely obstruction. That’s what happened w/Nixon in the Sat Night Massacre. Nixon would likely have been impeached/charged with obstruction had Ford not pardoned Nixon for all crimes committed while in office.

Really, it would be very foolish of Trump to try to fire Mueller or influence the investigation. His best bet is to let the investigation conclude, stop talking about the investigation completely, not communicate with other subjects of the investigation about the investigation,
