How are movie theaters luring people away from Netflix and the couch? With giant, comfy recliners.https://on.wsj.com/2GJ2kd8

That's great, but honestly, if I wanted to watch a movie surrounded by people who are this close to dozing off and farting, I'd visit someone's elderly relatives.

The seats are awful. You can have a perfect stranger essentially lying down beside you. Talk about an invasion of your space and privacy.

The seats are great and strangers are not laying next to you, nor are they invading your privacy. Additionally, there is no expectation of privacy when you are in public.

It’s worked for us. We see more movies at the theater because it’s comfortable now and we get to choose our seats

People are not laying down. It's called "reclined."

The best part is actually seat reservations. Not having to rush in there early and try to hold seats.

They are nice, but not as comfortable as my couch, with one dog next to me on each side, even though my screen is not as big.

Upscale is still uphill when it comes to the battle to lure customers. The theaters have to offer films folks want to watch.

Because projectors are affordable these days. Why would you want to go to the theater with just a little tech knowhow?

All the movie theaters need to do to save the industry is LOWER THEIR PRICES. It's too expensive to take my kids to the theater. If tickets cost 5 dollars or less a piece, it would be worth the experience and cost of taking my family to the theater.
