Erratic behavior is not a capital crime, let alone justification for summary execution.

You should do a ride along with a man or woman in blue... just one night. In a metro downtown kinda situation... also, did you just watch that guy acting like he was pointing a gun at people? They supposed to get a gun expert to verify the caliber, otherwise assume its fake?

But you didn’t observe the police there, obviously.

It’s more a gun issue in the US than anything. Here, police have to assume a firearm is involved if reports of a dangerous person come in. In Europe that doesn’t have to be the default assumption (number/police killed by them per capital in US and European counties aren’t close)

Are u suggesting we repeal the second amendment? If so, how do u confiscate the 30-40 million guns?

This picture shows what I presume is a mother and child walking past him. Child closer to him. Did they feel threatened?

They do duck and cringe so im guessing yes. That would indicate fear or anxiety.

The only people scared of this man were the cowardly police. A mother holding her child basically ignored him. No mother would react that way if there was a real threat.

The law is quite clear. Even if a toy gun or something resembling a firearm is used in the commission of a criminal act it is treated as real firearm. Police officers had no way of determining if the threat was real or not. No blame can be placed on the officers.

Aggressively lunging at people with what appears to be a gun or knife. Great work by police in eliminating the threat.

No controversy here. The guy had to be put down based on his actions. Sad but his family who knew he was mentally ill should have helped him and kept him off the street.
