Is there a serious problem with food stamp spending? Or is this yet another example of the @GOP finding new and creative ways to be hateful.

Oh there’s lots of waste and fraud. But to talk about it is racist and stuff....https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/usda-35891-retailers-engaged-food-stamp-fraud …

"Lots" . K? Which study did you pluck that from? I've looked at the federal budget, saying that food stamps is a priority is nonsense, but this plays well with hateful voters on the right who apparently want kids to go hungry...

From the link: “The U.S. Department of Agriculture has published a report estimating that 35,891 food retailers around the country engaged in food stamp fraud, illegally “trafficking” more than $1 billion from SNAP benefits annually over the three-year period from 2012 - 2014.”

Ahh, so the retailers are the problem, not the recepients. No one is in favor of fraud, what we are against is slashing social safety nets and kids going hungry.

People aren’t going hungry. Poor people here have iPhones, internet, and flat screen TVs. They sell their food stamps and buy booze and cigarettes. But there’s no fraud and wasted.

More strawman.. I've already acknowledged it exists but you're incapable of an intellectually honest discussion.

Foodstamps are 0.7% of the entire budget. Meanwhile the military is getting 716 billion and Israel is getting 38 billion and they are over there still killing protesters. I'm sure we could have found other programs to cut. Does the government just hate poor people?

Too bad. Your in big trouble if you’ve grown your business taking advantage of food stamps. Better put that brain to work and think of something else. The tax payers won’t be subsidizing your bottom line anymore
