In related news, like MLB, the absence of a SALARY CAP in the EPL has materially diminished its intrinsic appeal, i.e., it is simply unrealistic for mid-level teams to "even compete" with Manchester City (a la Yankees or Red Sox) due to sheer disparity in talent.
