Ok. 18 yr olds could buy without parents knowledge. 18-20yr old hang-out together or are brothers. 21 is safer over-all.

Well, let's assume these statistics are correct. There is no justification for selling automatic war weapons to civilians. They should be permanently banned.
-
They have been banned since the 80s

One day they are responsible gun owners than they get sad or mad than a mass shooting happens. At least with pistols you may have a chance to survive, with an AR15 your chance are slim to none. Those shot in the last Mass shooting are still with us, hopefully they will get well.

Not true the deadliest school shooting was commuted with a hand gun and killed 32 people

Exactly RIGHT! The mass murderers weren't what the right likes to describe as "lurking criminals, buying guns on the black market." Their legal guns gave them the means to BECOME the criminals that they are, now. The NRA and the GOP enabled the process. Stop them in November!

So they obtain them illegally and use them illegally. We should make a law that makes that illegal that will stop them

Proper license system can solve the trouble. All these "debates" can only shake an air. Congress must do it.

A registry is a great idea. I wonder if I can find another country that did that to see if that's a good idea first.
#germany1928 found it!! Oh oh you may want to skip to the end of that book.

If you are a gun owner-especially if you have minors living in your home—it’s your obligation to have your weapons properly secured in a safe that only you and your spouse have the combination/key. Hiding your weapon under your bed or a closet does not count as security.
-
Because someone willing to use that gun wouldn't be willing to find that key too
#Democratlogic -
You totally missed the point of my comment. Willingness is not the issue...gun owner responsibility of securing their weapons is the issue.
-
I get what you are saying. "Blame the parent for not locking up the gun". I say yes the parents are someone also to blame. But has your child or anyone you are responsible for ever done something you didn't want them to do. Who's to blame then?
-
Of course children do things that you don't want them to do, but accessing a gun safe takes more than a child's mischievous behavior.
-
It's takes a key....and a willingness. We already know the shooter is willing. So you are telling me a lock would make the shooter go...nah too much work. But maybe your right. Time to think first might be what they need
