Yep! This is how I like my rights ensured: By an unelected bureaucrat as far removed from me as humanly possible.

She has nothing to do with your rights as an American on US soil. She’s not a bureaucrat, but a politician. She’s one of the European commissioners appointed by the democratic European governments - much like the US cabinet members are appointed by the US president.

If someone wants to do business in the US, the US sets the rules. If someone wants to do business in Europe, Europe sets the rules. Seems fair to me ...

Oh, she dies not care much about that. Just throw a few billions her way, with maybe the added spice of giving EU authorities data access/censorship, and she'll be prrfectly reasonable

not one instance of fines actually going to damaged parties, however direct. all fines she fought for went to general government revenue /expenditure. it's an age old trick actually, like monetary fines for cars instead of point systems.

I project that in future the GDPR regulations will be part of the Human Rights...and private enterprises have clear demonstrated that they can not regulate themselves. Some sort of public oversight is needed.

It reminds me a lot of the ambitions of Mr. Monti during his mandate as commissioner at DG Competition in 2000. Jack Welch knows a lot about that...(see the rejection of the merger between General Electric and Honeywell). @MassimoMaugeri @belitabrux @amingardi @PaoloZanetto
