Stop the lies. The legal question in abortion is not whether it is right or wrong but whether the fact that some find it wrong gives them the right to restrict the actions of others with different religious view points. In the old days we called it separation of church and state.

What about whether the fact that since some find abortion ok then the rest have to pay?
-
Omg...abortion is not funded by any government source. However, Planned Parenthood is primary care for hundreds of thousands of women and *children*: Pap smears, breast cancer screenings, birth control (you know, which prevents abortions), coordinating care and education.
-
Yes. Planned parenthood provides abortions and yes tax dollars go to planned parenthood.
-
What is that whole bearing false witness thing?
-
It's a "technicality" Only 2 & 5 count to be the cup that is clean on the outside.
-
And just to clarify: I'm pro-life: pro brown life, black-life, poor-life, immigrant-life, uninsured-life, gay-life, non-Christian life and Children's-lives. I'm NOT just pro-birth. That's why it's called pro-*life*.

I was raised Catholic and I have similar beliefs. I'm just a minimalist when it comes to the laws.

Separation of church and state
@CardinalDolan has the balls he needs to stay out of politics and focus on all the sexual abuse and sodomy cases and stop asking@NYPD to not investigateThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

But if you value hypocrisy, you're more than welcome in the Republic party.

I can’t wait for more Catholics to abandon Cardinal Dolan, the guy who used a cheap bookkeeping trick to take $ from the survivors of rape committed by priests under his watch

Actually I think the Pope disagrees....Pope trumps Dolan!
-
I am curious what you think
@CardinalDolan wrote that the pope would disagree with. -
The Pope is far less judgement and embraces all people.
-
I don’t think
@cardinaldolan was being judge mental, or even telling anyone how to vote. He was pointing out several ways in which things have changed in regards to religious freedom. I’ve never heard the pope talk about diluting of religious freedoms for Catholics in the US. -
I’m sorry, but when you make this statement: “If you value religious education or life’s sanctity, you’re not welcome in the Democratic Party” I sounds judgmental to me. I am a democrat and I totally disagree with this statement and see it as divisive. Happy Easter.
-
I do understand your point. I’m no longer gop def voted dem in potus election. But I do worry based on dem policies of late that there is little room for many Catholics. Not explicitly, but yes in regards to items listed in this piece.

I think the biggest issue is pro life vs pro choice (which does not mean pro abortion though many characterize it as that). Most catholic friends are anti abortion /pro life, but many understand or have been touched by that difficult decision in some way, so are more empathetic
-
I agree with you- I find the same thing. And if the line was drawn at indiv right to choose it would be easier. Things get trickier to align with a party that sees it more and more fitting to dictate to catholic orgs that the must operate in ways that they consider sinful.
