#PopeFrancis is a very unreliable guide to the teachings of his own church. His unscripted statements are not made with much awareness of systematic considerations. As a non-Catholic, I have no standing, but I nevertheless commend to the Pontiff the example of his predecessor.

As a Catholic I find it amusing when non Catholics have an opinion about a pope that doesn’t appeal to them.

Fair point, but all Christians have a vested interest in the clarity and and orthodoxy of the Catholic church's witness. For the record, most of my Catholic friends share my misgivings with Francis.

If you want hell, I guess one should convert to Islam.

One pope and one journalist are telling that the other one is not saying the truth about an interview that the former denies and the latter is sure to have heard. And if the whole world had something important to think of? It may be.
