Like planes, the person has the ultimate responsibility and control and has the final say. Autopilots should always be used to reduce workload and fatigue but they are not infallible and must be carefully monitored at all times.

This is not unfortunate, but at the same time my experience with autopilot suggests the car can do strange things at a moments notice. My conclusion: Always keep hands on the wheel lightly. I doubt this driver had their hands on the wheel and most likely wasn’t even looking.

There may be two possibilities to launch pre-matured autonomous pilot cars in road. 1 is that Tesla is crazy. 2. They are too smart, wanted to have real use case and usability experience.
