Said a former PostMaster General, one who like every other in the past 30 years has operated the Post Office at a staggering loss of taxpayer money...

Actually not true. Congress makes USPS pre fund retirement 75 years in advance to the tune of 5 billion a year of profits. So appears like a loss.

It’s much more than that. It’s called Cognitive Dissonance and we ALL have it to some degree. Having a truly open mind (or even a partial one) takes curiosity and critical thinking skills.

For some. But part of America won’t even take the time to do a few seconds of research to see what is true or not before they “believe”.

I agree with that wholeheartedly — we expect to be fed and not have to fish. It’s sad. I certainly came away with a better understanding about ‘part of’ the staggering operating losses from a govt agency. But no one wants to discuss how / why a taxpayer should subsidize Amazon?

We don’t subsidize Amazon. If you want to talk about subsidies, look at Wall Mart and the percentage of their employees that rely on federal SNAP assistance (among others) since Wall Mart doesn’t pay a living wage.

Is the USPS making money?ie bringing in more from services than they spend?

The purpose of the USPS is not to turn a profit. It is a “Service” (it’s in its name) provided to the people, funded in part by taxes, in order to make communication affordable. (You have to remember when it was formed there was only one way to communicate over long distances)

They gonna walk off a cliff if this jack ass of a president asks them to. He made a clearly indefensible attack on a corporation and he poorly represented the USPS

Since I prefer publicly owned services like the USPS over privately owned services like UPS and FedEx, I always have my Amazon and other online purchased shipped to my PO Box (only deliverable by USPS).

We know that, but the people he talks to don’t. Trump appeals to the lowest common denominator of people. They are trumpers. And will vote against their own best interests every time.

When Conservatives attack the USPS for losing money, remind them it is because in 2006 the REPUBLICAN controlled WH, Congress, & Senate passed a bill requiring the USPS to PRE-fund their retiree health benefit knowing it would put them in the red! They set it up to privatize it!

Of course it has. Most of my stuff comes through USPS. My postal carrier said she’s loving the extra hours she’s getting each week. TRump is just jealous of anyone that is more successful and more popular. Egomaniacal Donnie cannot get enough attention, good or bad.
