And all that because of FB revelations. How does that concern Apple or Amazon etc.? What are investors thinking?

They make $$$ off licensing, user fees & advertising dollars (data mining). FB is exposing the obvious. Google plays the same game using app permissions to gather data & searching emails, docs, videos, profiles for advertising opportunities. Whistle-blowers must show violations.

Value investing works. Why isn’t it more popular? Explanation: "Individuals are subject to irrational behaviour. They extrapolate, they are overly optimistic, they overreact and most importantly, they act as a herd. Silicon Valley’s digital monopolists are finally meeting their natural destiny - regulated existence because they grossly abused consumer trust as well as attempted to sabotage American democracy. Now not even the analysts can save their bogus valuation from the wrath of reality

Don't count your chickens. They still have politicians in their pocket. They bought Obama, they targeted Gillebrand & Kamala Harris (fundraising leader in Silicone Valley), & a republican lead FCC under Pai won't be eager to add regulations. Both parties are not likely to do it.

Cable & Satellite companies also violate user data privacy using similar methods but get away with by saying its on meta-data, sane excuse NSA uses. Cambridge Analytica whistle-blower says that's obvious false, they mine individual data not the aggregate which is less valuable.
