"...would produce a better-qualified workforce for the evolving economy." Is factually incorrect. The new economy needs a skilled workforce; a blend of technical skill and knowledge. Get a skill or trade. Go to work. Employer covers the balance of education. It is the new model

No such thing. Taxes will pay for it and that tax money comes out of you and me.

Agreed; it would be money well spent. That would be a far far better investment in the future than tax give-aways to the billionaires and endless spending on interminable wars.

Make just the INCREASE in defense spending pay for it, there is soooo much money there, it will pay for their books, and gas too.

#Degree is devalued when everyone has one. #Jobs pay graduates what HS grads were paid 50yrs ago. (Inflation adjusted)

Red herring argument that nobody values something that is free. Education isn't free. We all pay for for K-12 and maybe we need to consider upping the ante.

Nothing is free, but since the 1950s, Govt involvement in college education has inflated college costs 10,000%, more than 10Xs the rate of inflation & wage growth, making college unaffordable to ever more ppl, requiring unrepayable borrowing which the Govt also controls

No!!!!!! It would not be free...taxpayers would be paying for it. Plus, if govt was paying, tuition would skyrocket even more than it is already! Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
