Odd. Legally, it is not the police's job to do the same.

Presumably, this will mean that UC will no longer actively encourage Antifa thuggery within its campuses?

When a student is on school grounds he/she should be safe.
-
Physically safe only. Mentally terrorised.

If proven the school administrators knew about and promoted the violent characters on their campus, they will pay heavily.

Of course they have the responsibility to provide a reasonably safe environment. That doesn’t mean that all attacks will create liability. But reasonable protections should be in place. If the student who stabbed was known to carry knives and displayed schizophrenic behavior, yes

Ultimately gun control in this country will be decided by who can afford the most liability insurance. Because ultimately insurance companies seem to decide most things in this country. If you want a gun, you better have millions and liability coverage.

This is not new. Schools do have a duty to their students. Notice is says "can" and will be left up to a jury. And this is good law. A school should not be able to ignore it's knowledge of a threat and risk. They control the property/environment & get the info of threats. so yes.

The fiduciary duties will be measured case cut case on what is reasonable.

As it should be.
