The self-driving Uber car that hit and killed a pedestrian didn’t brake or veer first—raising questions about whether its sensor system failed http://on.wsj.com/2u71ikY pic.twitter.com/Juzedq65TS

Why does no headline include the fact that the person was running across the street outside of a crosswalk? A person would have likely hit them too. This should be a non-story, it's simply fueled by those who fear the future.

The woman who was killed won't be the last to die in the name of taking driving out of the hands of humans. I wonder how many will have to die.

The lady walked out in front of the car. It’s not the cars fault. A human would of likely hit her too.

Did the Uber not have an emergency brake pedal for the 'driver'? If not, then why have it manned at all?

The person who got hit walked right in front of the car, on a highway, in the middle of the night. The driver would have manual controls, but it wouldn't matter, no one could react quickly enough
