This technology should be suspended and rightfully so! Unproven tech and autonomous technology is all moving extremely to fast into the unknown abyss that lie ahead.

Just awful.. we heavily discount risk and associated potential consequences until we find ourselves experiencing the consequence... I am a technology advocate but there must be a more staged introduction in a world where we are encouraging more pedestrians and cycle commuting.

Couldn’t agree more Damian- the rush to early adoption will challenge so many existing norms around transit for pedestrians/ other drivers/ cyclists... wait until freight gets on board!

Sorry. If an Uber can only stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk, they have no business being driverless.

I wonder how many pedestrians are killed everyday by human drivers compared to this one incident.

People keep trying to figure out who to sue. Meanwhile this family cares about the death that just happened. Stop chasing checks!!

Who is liable? Big question that needs to be answered before we accept cars without drivers as normal.

Sooner or later, we'll all get to see the video of this accident from the car's point of view. It exists.
