China wants to make money, the old man view of the world needs to go. One planet, gotta work together. Plus we are a consumer economy, not manufacturing. Ships sailed.

Sorry we disagree and having travel the gobal economy and fight the Cold War we need to keep our posture as a World Leader I even worked for a global community

There’s better ways to do this stuff, being the “global leader” is advantages, yes. We don’t have to do it in ways that will hurt our economy. And it’s cool we disagree, we should work hard to find common ground with this stuff, a skill lost in politics.

You know what would be a good foil against China? A series of bi-lateral trade agreements with countries allowing us to compete with China. @matthewjdowd @tamarakeithNPR @NPRrelving

Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to read the article. Indeed, import duties should apply, however, as long as safety and quality is not compromised, the buyer should be allowed to decide which.

People have no idea. How do you compete with a communist country that changes value of currency on a whim and subsidizes all its products. More then just tariffs are needed.
