Why should US taxpayers bail out New York City ? State of New York and City should fix this problem not the rest of us.

Because majority of residents do not take care of their buildings. Elevators full of urine, phlegm. Stairwells full of poop/garbage. I saw it firsthand. East New York and Brownsville. Hallways are extremely dirty. Of course mold will grow.

No surprise there. NYC residents are DEMOCRATS. Apparently they enjoy human excrement in public housing & on the streets. #NeverVoteDemocrat ever

Let them own their own place, then they would be more apt to take care of it.

I have an idea, New York! Why not elect some more off-the-chart Liberal socialist/communist Democrats to be your mayor, senators, representatives and governor? Don’t let California beat you as being the nuttiest state in the country!

seems to me that for that kind of money, you are probably better off tearing them down and rebuilding them. that is $140k/unit! big bureaucracies like this DONT WORK.
