Unless you HAVE to work you should feel guilty. Some moms need to work to put food on the table. God bless them. But many WANT to work. Sending your nanny to a performance is, in a word, gross. If you can afford a nanny you can afford to stay home while you’re kids are little.

Don't miss your child's events. When you die your last thought will not be...geee...i wish I went to work instead of supporting my child. Look, there will be times where you have to miss it. But those times are very very few if you are not serving in the military.

The first step is to just admit that you don't really like your kid and/or being a parent. After that, not showing up for him or her will be much easier. (Not for them, of course. They'll be devastated and ruined, but your life will be so much easier.)
