Then does that mean we discuss a universal cap on income starting with him?

UBI take away the incentives to work hard, achieve and innovative. The claim that it helps poor people discounts the fact that what is considered poor is relative and changes with time and location. UBI is a redistribution of wealth and extends government intrusion and control.

Working hard does not correlate to earnings. It’s all market driven. If you “work hard” in certain industries you’ll get paid more than others. If you work hard as a mother you don’t get paid anything, if you work hard as a nanny for another person then you can make a living.

A few psych Tech billionaires want to accumulate all the wealth in the US by funneling it from the people then offer starvation wages to ensure you can't afford to do anything but sit on your phone or in front of your computer. They'll take your transportation and deliver food.

He doesn’t believe in #basicincome unless he has changed his views from previously only feeling that people who earn less than $50k deserve it. That isn’t #UBI.

@chrishughes @oren_cass If Mr Hughes was there to give Sanders his free income, his incentive and tenacity has been destroyed, he may not have founded KFC. What about the 100,000 people now not employed? What about the billions in lost taxes? No thank you!

@chrishughes @oren_cass Billion dollar business empires have been founded by people who just wanted a middle class income and overshot by thousands of percents. Mr Hugh's is destroying this private incentive and tenacity, why would they bother when it is handed to them.

He should fund UBI with his Facebook income. As a pilot project. He can then study and evaluate the project, see what the benefits to it are and see if he thinks it should continue. That is called putting your money where your mouth is.
