The Toys 'R' Us CEO said vendors who didn't support the retailer through the holidays and customers who shopped elsewhere 'will all live to regret what’s happening here'http://on.wsj.com/2FBiVz1

Toys R Us didn’t provide the customer services cleanliness, price point or convenience that Amazon does. 🙄

I mean when I can find a video game for $10 bucks at Amazon vs $30 at toys r us, then yeah it's hard to blame toys r us, lol

Why are only Muslim women shown shopping in this selected photo? Don't American women go shopping too?

Toys R Us is to blame itself for its demise. Shops started looking like a dumpyard; there was no innovation in products; customer service deteriorated badly. You lost focus from your key customers - the children.

Nothing like a disgruntled CEO taking one last parting shot and refusing to accept blame for his companies failure. Instead of thinking, what could we have done differently, it's always someone else's fault when things go wrong.

Toys R Us is a big box store. This is not a Main Street Mom & Pop. They didn't adapt to the internet and Amazon (for some reason still not considered a monopoly) ate their lunch. It sucks for the retail workers though, no question. But as a customer, I never liked going there.

Yup. Target's online business is really good too -- their shipping is pretty top notch.

Did he also mention what his payout was and how lower level employees could have at least gotten a week's severance instead?

In the store in my area that is going out of business, even the liquidation prices are higher than the Target and Walmart store regular prices and they’re right next door. Why would I even buy the so-called clearance prices then?! Corporate greed and not changing with the times.

I couldn't agree more. Have great memories of my kids running up, and down Toys R Us happiest days of their lives. I am sure new parents will have great memories of their kids scrolling up, and down their cell phones.

Every time I've gone into a Toys R Us store in the past few years, I've been disappointed. We usually shop in person at Target or online. Babies R Us is a massive disappointment compared to Buy Buy Baby and my local stores, as well.
