"I spent literally every penny I had," said one mother, who filed for bankruptcy after spending tens of thousands of dollars on rounds of drug-addiction rehab for her son. Last year, he died of an overdose.http://on.wsj.com/2FpCZUI

Has to be gut wrenching to give up everything and then lose everything. Definitely feel for her.

Addiction is a big money industry in the USA. Not only do smugglers and dealers have a financial interest in keeping drugs illegal, so do people in the rehab industry, private prison scam and last but by no means least, cops.

The only thing the drug companies are sad about is that her son isn’t around to buy MORE.

At what point do people realize the responsibility for themselves? For their own actions?

They point is, the Family was bankrupted by the cost of rehab. Of course they’re going to try to save their child. That’s what families do.

Understand....but who’s fault is that? When people won’t help themselves, you cannot help them, no matter how badly you want to. Enabling is not helping! Hard as it may be you might have to watch them scrape rock bottom!
