        It suddenly became clear to me when I saw a 1st-edition book jacket: https://www.raptisrarebooks.com/images/43705/2001-a-space-odyssey-arthur-c-clarke-first-edition-signed.jpg … (Clarke had previously written a short story; different title, different degree of cultural impact)
